First, you need to install an app called LZ Desktop. Currently it’s the only app of its kind. But in the future there may be more apps that support SW and SWS links. Hopefully, at some point even main stream browsers will add that support. But for now, make sure to install LZ Desktop.
LZ Desktop only supports MacOS for now, but soon there will be a Windows version as well.
Download LZ Desktop here.
Now that you have the app, ensure that it is running. It’s a desktop app, meaning it serves as a desktop, so usually you will leave it open for extended periods of time. When the app is running, you can click on any SW or SWS link in your browser, and you’ll automatically move to LZ Desktop where you will see the same web page. You need to place that web page somewhere on the canvas.
This is a short video showing how it looks:
What you get in the end is not a link, but a complete document that now lives on your computer. You can always access it even if there is no internet connection.
Now imagine that you can save your favourite web pages on this desktop and nicely organise them using proximity or even lines like on a mind-map.
If you own a website
You can publish your website on the Static Web. If it’s a WordPress website, then all you need to do is install a plugin (the link to the plugin will be added later). If it’s not WordPress, you’ll have to add endpoints to your backend that return static content.
The plugin simply adds an extra endpoint for each page of your website. It also adds a download link on each of the original pages.
Later I’ll add links to more info.
